Free survival horror on the SCP franchise

SCP: Labrat is a free adventure game from Bezbro Games. Based upon the hit online fiction about the exploits of the SCP Foundation, this survival horror is the virtual reality (VR) remake of the 2012 game SCP - Containment Breach. Retaining the overall premise of the original, you’re tasked with surviving the containment breach and collecting items and information along the way.

By offering an additional experience in the SCP universe, SCP: Labrat is poised to become one of the more memorable titles, thanks to its realistic physics and quality graphics. Other games include SCP: Secret Files and SCP-087.

An immersive SCP experience

In SCP: Labrat, you play as the test subject in an experiment gone wrong. As members of the SCP Class D Personnel, you are tasked with verifying information and conducting experiments to further mankind’s understanding of these anomalies. However, the containment failed, and multiple creatures are now roaming the facility. Your mission is to survive and, whenever possible, help the Foundation recover the loose anomalies.

Since it is a faithful recreation of the 2012 fanmade game, the general premise remains the same. If you’re familiar with the original, then consider the surprises of this game spoiled. Still, the devs in this VR remake spice things up with the addition of new objectives and new SCPs to outrun, outsmart, and ultimately outlast as you navigate across the Foundation premises.

Lastly, as a VR-only game, it’s not playable unless you have any of the supported VR headsets. With that out of the way, get ready for some seriously scary moments in this game. It’s particularly difficult, especially since the in-game physics make the game both immersive and counterintuitive at the same time. The new SCPs and new locations contribute greatly to making this remake effective.

A worthy remake

One of the best things that the 2012 Containment Breach game offers is a wider understanding of the SCP lore, especially its ending scenarios—something SCP: Labrat takes into the heart. It builds on the original’s strengths, adds its own content, and makes the entire experience immersive by using VR technology. Aside from the VR headset requirement, expect a more challenging game ahead. Recommended.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
